Grow in Your Faith | Discipleship
Now that you are "Born Again", where to you Go from Here?

Giving your life to Jesus is the beginning of your life as a Believer! Now is time for DISCIPLESHIP. "What is discipleship?" A disciple is a dedicated follower of Jesus, His Life, His Teaching, His Love, and His Ways. Discipleship starts when you are "born-again" through Faith and Repentance. Discipleship is key to personal spiritual growth.

7 Benefits for the True Disciple

Eternal Life

And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent (John 17:3).

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls (Matt 11:29).

I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13).

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me (Revelation 3:20).

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (Roman 8:28)

-Matthew 19:27

Then Peter answered and said to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?” So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.

Discipleship is absolutely necessary since Jesus, Himself, commanded His followers in the Bible to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them, and teaching them to obey all of His commands (Matt 28:19-20). After Jesus was teaching in Matthew 19, Peter replied to Jesus with a statement, "...We have left all and followed You." (Matthew 19:27)  Being Disciple of Jesus means to "leave" the ways of the world and follow Jesus. It is a lifelong commitment to follow His Life, His Teachings, His Love, and His Ways.

Do you want to Grow?

Discipleship is also about GROWING in God. Growing in knowledge, faith, prayer, strength, peace, love, etc. Being planted at a loyal church plays an important in discipleship. The nutrients that the Word of God supplies are essential for your success. As you feed on the Word of God, it gets in you and when it does, healing, strength, wisdom and life comes out of the Word and goes into you. God has given the church leaders who are anointed by him to led and teach His disciples. "Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ." (Ephesians 4:11-13)
